Finding Wellness in Every Step
Long before I became a therapist, I was someone trying to understand my own inner world. Depression, anxiety, and a quiet sense of being alone in ways that were hard to explain were familiar companions for much of my life. At times, I carried the feeling of being emotionally “orphaned,” like I was navigating things that others seemed to move through more easily. Those experiences slowly shaped the questions I carried about people, pain, and how we learn to keep going even when life feels heavy or uncertain. I chose the path of becoming a therapist because I believed deeply in the possibility of healing and in the power of not having to face our struggles alone.
Shortly before completing my graduate degree, my own life shifted in ways I could not have predicted. I was experiencing symptoms that would eventually lead to a diagnosis. It was a frightening and disorienting time, and one that changed my understanding of mental health in very real ways. What made the difference for me was support. Loved ones, along with skilled and compassionate professionals, stood beside me during a time when I needed it most. Their care, guidance, and belief in my ability to recover quite literally saved my life. That experience deepened something I already believed: that healing happens in relationship. We are not meant to carry our hardest moments alone.
Today, I bring both my professional training and my lived understanding of emotional struggle into the therapy room. My hope is to create a space where people who have felt alone, overwhelmed, or unseen can experience something different such as compassion, steadiness, and the possibility of finding their way forward with support.
